The acting captain of the brigade wanted to see if we could benefit using the drone for training purposes in the future.
The drone was mainly used for recording the burn, but as the fire continued we used it to keep an eye on any assets (house and shed) and also for spotting.

We run a UT 3.4 – Urban Tanker, 3 thousand litre, 4 wheel drive Isuzu truck and a Landrover Light Tanker that can crew 4 as it tows a Rescue Trailer for Road Crash. We attend structure fires, landscape fires, Road Crash Rescue, HAZMAT, DBA’s and special services. We are trained in RCR, Structure fire (internal and external), Landscape fire, HAZMAT, Breathing Apparatus and a range of other skills.

Our second significant bushfire within the last week in the Margaret River region. This one at Rosa Brook this afternoon got going with strong winds fueling the blaze. The fire was spotting several hundred metres ahead of the fire front and crowning in the trees.
