Connor Lambert went and had a look into Fire and Rescue NSW Light Tanker 237 Branxton, which is equipped primarily to respond to Community First Responder incidents.
The tanker was driving down the highway when it overturned, crashed and exploded causing a large running fuel fire. The driver of the truck was killed.
It carries 550lt. Uprated springs and dampers give it a GVM of 3900kg and seats 2. Pull down heat curtains and Draeger in-cab air.
It is based on an Isuzu FTS 800 Chassis, built by Fraser Engineering from Wellington, New Zealand. The truck is designed as an urban/rural ‘light’ pumper/tanker, with a pump powered by a Deutz BF4L2011 engine coupled to Darley HE500 pump.
