There were large scale bushfires in Sydney this April with crews from both Fire + Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire service attending – by the hundreds. One NSW RFS crew from Mount Hunter Rural Fire Brigade were working on a sector within the Holsworthy fire and protecting infrstructure when a large male Koala came out of the bush, looking shocked and distressed.

Photos & Video! On the 18th of July 2016, Station 295 Forster were called to a reports of a “Grass Fire” at the corner of Little St and Mark St, Forster. On arrival, what they found was certainly something more significant than what was reported. What they found was thousands of oyster racks well alight!
On the 14th of October, Firefighters from all over Australia descended on Sydney to raise funds in an effort to help end Motor Neurone Disease. 596 Firefighters climbed the 1,504 steps of Sydney Tower wearing full structural PPE and raised over $573,000 for the cause. This is one of those scenarios you draw on a whiteboard and never really think you’ll see. A B-double truck has slammed into a guardrail and bridge, hung the trailer off the side off the side of the bridge and then caught fire. It happened on the Hume Highway and the Wingecarribee River Bridge in Berrima and drew a large scale response from both the NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire & Rescue NSW.
