We did a shout out on facebook for a new cover photo – what we got back was over 180 photos of firefighting across the country. There was so much amazing content captured in the photos sent in, we decided to make a video!
The two Kalgoorlie based vehicles – an urban pump and a District Officer’s vehicle – are decorated with images of natural flora and fauna of Wongatha Country – something local Aboriginal people can identify with instantly.
Chris was flagged down by motorists and stopped to assist at an MVA. Whilst assisting the occupants, Chris became pinned under the car himself and has sustained serious lower leg and foot injuries – to the point where he may lose his leg entirely.

A number of fires were started by lightning strikes on Wednesday near Nullagine, Western Australia. Pushed along by winds and dry conditions, the fires combined the next day to form a single 55,000 hectare fire!
