A fire that is believed to have started in a bucket in a backyard has rapidly spread to multiple houses in a street, pushed by strong winds and erratic fire behavior. The fire was upgraded to a structure fire 5th alarm – bringing appliances from Sydney and surrounds.

Appliances in attendance from FRNSW: P442, P258, RP241, P461, LP503, R503, P269, P325, RP503, ZCI, RP33, P474, P210, P422, DCGR, R20, RP54, AP47, HP85, DCSW, LT80, T461, T90.

NSW RFS: Helensburgh, Stanwell Park, Otford, Austinmer, Illawarra Bulk, Group One, Deputy Group Two, FCO Two


20 crews have battled multiple house fires in Coalcliff overnight. Winds of up to 50km per hour caused the fire to spread quickly including several spot fires further north.
