For the second time this year, a popular Sydney fruit shop has gone up in flames. The incident was upgraded to a 2nd alarm causing the evacuation of nearby townhouses. Here’s what Station 090 had to say.
This morning at 04:11 Menai Fire Station P90 & T90, Miranda AP45, Sutherland P46, Cronulla RP 54, Hurstville P20 & Kogarah LP21 were responded to a structure fire at the corner of Ruby Rd and Garnet Rd Gymea.
On arrival the Fruit Shop was found to be well a light. Crews went to work to extinguish the fire, utilizing an Aerial Platform, crews in Breathing Apparatus, & crews protecting from the external structure. Thankfully, nobody was inside the building at the time and no injuries sustained.
Fire, Police and Ambulance NSW were all in attendance, investigations will continue as to the cause of the fire.
