Held every two years, the knox fire brigades group torchlight parade is based on a long-standing tradition where volunteer firefighters march through the streets carrying lit kerosene lamps or ‘torches’.
The march is often accompanied by pipe bands and finishes with a fireworks display. It’s a chance for the local community to interact and pay tribute to the hard work the volunteer firefighters in the area do. It is also a chance for brigades from around far and wide to get together for a meal – away from the fireground. Blair Dellemijn was there to shoot the event and as usual, produces amazing results.
