Helicopter crash in the Royal National Park

“Saturday 17/12/2016 at 10:43, the crew of Fire & Rescue NSW Bundeena 080 station were called to a Helicopter crash in the Royal National Park near Jibbon Hill. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter winched out the uninjured persons, as the downed helicopter was located in 2 meter tall scrub and difficult to access. On speaking with the pilot it is alleged that the helicopter lost power and he was forced to land in a safe location, there was no fuel leaking and no danger of fire. The crew assisted Ambulance officers in checking the pilot & 3 passengers who we not injured in the incident. Fire Rescue, Ambulance, Police, RFS and National Parks were in attendance.”
