Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has his bag packed, ready to go. He volunteers with a NSW RFS brigade in Sydney and has done so for many years. Politics aside, you can’t knock the man for getting out there in the heat and standing with firefighters – both paid and volunteer. Not many others can say the same.

It was great to see so many families enjoying the Christmas lights in Davidson. Thanks to everyone for supporting the brigade’s fundraising efforts. NSW Rural Fire Service
I founded Flashover to promote Australian Firefighting. I’ve been a volunteer and a paid firefighter but now I spend my time chasing up leads, promoting good mental health and making the occasional Grumpy Firecom comic!
