NSW RFS Strike Teams were recently deployed to the Catarrh Creek Road fire near Torrington and Andrew Flakelar from Belrose Rural Fire Brigade photographed some stunning images of the campaign.

These capture some great operational activity, along with a more personable side not often seen in fireground photos. Great stuff.

We were fighting fires in the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales near Torrington at the Catarrh Creek Road Fire. 72 hour strike teams were deployed from Northern Beaches, Central Coast, Hawkesbury and Hills Districts and a team from Region West doing overnight swing shifts, who worked with local crews to contain the 5,000 hectare fire. As far as I know no houses were lost, a great credit to all involved.

I founded Flashover to promote Australian Firefighting. I've been a volunteer and a paid firefighter but now I spend my time chasing up leads, promoting good mental health and making the occasional Grumpy Firecom comic!
