This is a must read. 6 firefighters in Western Australia using 3 appliances defended an exploration camp of 117 men and bulk fuel storage depot against a 160,000 hectare fire – for 24 hours!
The Go Health Lunch Bar was up in flames in Western Australia, with heavy smoke found on arrival. There were difficulties gaining access into the property, so the crews used a somewhat unconventional entry method.
Not many stations out there can show off timber floors in their engine bay! Have a look at the great station that Mt Barker VFRS runs over in WA. It was built in the 60’s and shows off a real sense of pride in what they do.

Georgia Peach arrived in Fremantle Port, Western Australia, in preparation for the fire season. It is scheduled to come online in December and is bound to get a workout over in those parts.
