On the 14th of October, Firefighters from all over Australia descended on Sydney to raise funds in an effort to help end Motor Neurone Disease. 596 Firefighters climbed the 1,504 steps of Sydney Tower wearing full structural PPE and raised over $573,000 for the cause. A shop-fitting factory went up in flames in Strathfield, drawing a 4th Alarm response with a call for additional pumpers. The fire spread to exposures and Derek Ho was there to grab some great photos.
With a station that houses over 50 operational firefighters and attends over 800 calls a year, Narre Warren from the CFA has just welcomed a brand new appliance. On the 16th of August, Derek Ho was behind the lens again and produced some fantastic shots of a third alarm fire in Sydney. The incident happened at 1 Thomas Holt Dr, Macquarie Park and caused the evacuation of 30+ people. There are some really nice shots of the crews here for the stations that attended.
Derek Ho got a bunch of great photos from a large scale rescue incident in Sydney today. A crane that was believed to be setting up for work fell backwards and impacted an apartment block. The crane operator was in the cabin at the time.
Keysborough Fire Brigade from the CFA undertook some great scenario drills recently with their adjoining station Springvale CFA - bringing with it some equally great photography! Looked like a really good hands on session, even with a firefighter down drill thrown in for good measure. Check it out.
Upon arrival we found a medium size dwelling well alight with flames and smoke issuing. We immediately got the pump to work while crews in BA began fighting the fire.
