The crew from Orchard Hills Rural Fire Brigade recently finished a long running project to upgrade their PPE storage in the engine bay. What used to be a typical hook and peg on the wall is now a flash looking locker setup - thanks to a bit of community spirit and some elbow grease from a few of the firies.
Located around 90 kilometers from Katherine in the Northern Territory, Pine Creek Fire Station operates within the Pine Creek fire district, a "2 mile radius" from the center of Pine Creek - which happens to be the local police station. What a great example of locals pitching in to help their community. With their closest support coming from nearly an hour away, these guys do it to protect their patch. Well done!
