This is a huge post – photos of the strike team appliances, video of the VLAT and Chinook at work and a great video of a multi agency strike team on the way under lights and sirens. If you’re into trucks, choppers and planes – this is the post for you!
If you have ever wondered just how much force is behind a drop from a DC-10 – then you need to see this. A retired US Firefighter stayed home to defend his house and captured this amazing footage, don’t miss it. Better red than black!
George Mirage Beotich and Greg from G.E.G Aviation Photography took a trip out to Camden, south west of Sydney, to look at the mighty CH-47D. This firefighting chopper is on loan from California and will be housed at Camden Airport for the current fire season. It carries 7,600 litres of water – which makes it the largest water based firefighting chopper in the country.
It played a pivotal role throughout this fire season and it would be safe to say – we hope to see it return!
