Agencies from NSW and the ACT responded to reports of a fire in a waste management facility. It's great to see adjoining fire services working side by side!
This new bulk water boasts an impressive hydraulic arm to lower a 'portadam' container from the side of the appliance, allowing firefighters to safely lower the dam and deploy it without having to drag it off the appliance. A back saving feature for sure!
This is a huge post - photos of the strike team appliances, video of the VLAT and Chinook at work and a great video of a multi agency strike team on the way under lights and sirens. If you're into trucks, choppers and planes - this is the post for you!
You've seen the exterior photos of the new Technical Rescue Vehicles, but have you seen the new gear inside them? Based at Blacktown fire station, Technical Rescue 063 replaces the old "Heavy Rescue 063" and boast a whole lot more gear to go with it. These new Technical Rescue Vehicles (TRV's) bring new equipment to the field, along with gear that was previous stored and accessed on demand. We took a look inside TRV063 and some of the new equipment available to firefighters. Don't miss this one, there's a *lot* of stuff to see.
There was no cover charge and tickets were available at the door for this sweet foam party in Dunheved recently. One firefighter was overheard saying he hadn't seen anything like this "since the late 90's"!
The crew over at Kumeu Volunteer Fire Brigade in N.Z have wrapped up a 2 year project and have produced a pretty amazing looking new addition to their station. Using a Nissan Navara NP300 4x4, they custom designed and constructed what is now known as Kumeu 8629!
Mudgee has gone pink for the month of October to raise awareness for breast cancer and support of the McGrath Foundation. Have a look at these photos of the NSW RFS appliances that have donned the pink livery!
Crews were responded to a 3rd alarm building fire on Newcomen at The Hill. One unit was totally destroyed by fire and several others sustained damage. Some good video of responding appliances responding to this call, too.
Just have a look at this beast of an appliance. Custom designed by a team of people in the Waitakere community and Auckland Rural Fire, WAIT7711 is a force to be reckoned with! Packing a whole range of equipment and abilities, this would be an amazing asset to any fire district.
George Mirage Beotich made his way out to the Agnes Banks fire, north west of Sydney. The fire was heavily resourced from both FRNSW and the NSW RFS and whilst the MCC-A was in attendance, he was able to get some interior and exterior photos!
